Cristy - Dental Hygienist
Cristy graduated from Fox Valley Technical College in 2005 with an Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene. Since starting her career, she has had the privilege to work in both family and periodontal focused dental offices. Working in one of the area's leading periodontal office, she broadened her knowledge and skills in the complex treatment of periodontal disease. Cristy is able to see the power of what great clinical skills & customized home care recommendations can do to treat this complex disease. Her passion for dentistry is making connections with her patients and helping them live healthy lives by providing exceptional, personalized dental care. She values continuing education as a way to grow as a hygienist and is the past Coordinator of the Milwaukee Dental Hygiene Study Club. Cristy is licensed to administer local anesthetic and is certified to use the soft tissue diode laser as a part of periodontal therapy.
Cristy is a cancer survivor who understands the value of living life to the fullest with her husband, Steve, and their two daughters. Through her cancer journey, her eyes were opened to the importance of listening to what our bodies are telling us and how crucial early diagnosis and treatment is. She enjoys spending time with family, friends, and their two French Bulldogs, Dudley and Tyler. Cristy also enjoys running half marathons, reading, and gardening.
Joanie - Dental Hygienist
Joanie joined the North Shore Dental team in 2013 and has been working alongside Dr. Smith since 2004. She grew up in La Crosse, WI and met Dr. Smith while in hygiene school. In 2004, they moved to Phoenix, AZ for 8 years where they enjoyed their time in the sunshine but decided to start a family and moved back to WI in 2012. They chose the Mequon community because it is a wonderful place to live and raise their three beautiful children (Amara, Lauryn, and Isaiah). They are especially grateful to be close to our families again and to enjoy all the beauty that Wisconsin has to offer.
Joanie graduated from Western Wisconsin Technical College in 2002. She is licensed to administer local anesthetic, nitrous oxide, and is certified to use the soft tissue diode laser for periodontal therapy. She truly enjoys her role as a dental hygienist and takes pride in helping people achieve optimum dental health. She is honored to follow in her mother's footsteps, who has been a dental hygienist for over 40 years. She looks forward to forming lasting relationships, as she has, with those patients seeking a caring, gentle and compassionate dental hygienist. She is excited to be a part of the North Shore Dental team and looks forward to being a part of your dental health for years to come!
Jordan - Dental Assistant
Jordan joined the North Shore Dental team in November 2017. She earned her certification as a Dental Assistant shortly after joining the team. She decided to pursue dentistry because she loves being able to help people and make them feel more confident with their smiles. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is committed to learning more about the practice every day! She is excited daily to experience everything the dental practice has to offer.
In her free time, Jordan enjoys playing golf, fishing and being in the great outdoors! She loves spending time with family, friends and her chocolate lab, Nessie and her two cats, Meow Meow and Marley.
Shana - Dental Assistant
Shana has a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from UW-Milwaukee and is one of a select group of assistants across the country that is certified in CAD/CAM digital dentistry. She has been a dental assistant for over 10 years. She has been designing and fabricating crowns and bridges for over 8 years. Her experience includes working with Invisalign, orthodontics, Zoom! whitening and all aspects of general dentistry. Shana enjoys making patients feel at ease and more comfortable about being at the dentist. She takes great pride in helping patients become more confident with their smiles.
In her free time, she enjoys working out and spending time with her husband Eric and twin daughters Stella and Scarlett. She also enjoys spending time with her two cats, Luna and Ranger.
Angie - Financial Coordinator
I joined North Shore Dental in the fall of 2019. My initial entry into dentistry was through MATC, where I was trained to be a dental assistant. I worked as a dental assistant for a few months before transitioning into a front office role as a financial coordinator. I enjoy being involved in dentistry and helping people achieve their perfect smile.
I grew up in Green Bay, WI and have been in the downtown Milwaukee area for the last 10 years. In my spare time I enjoy watching crime and nature documentaries and hanging with my two cats, Toro and Zedd. I also enjoy traveling with my friends, learning new recipes to try out, and enjoying the great outdoors.
