Cristy - Dental Hygienist

Cristy graduated from Fox Valley Technical College in 2005 with an Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene. Through the years she has had the privilege to work in both family and periodontal focused dental offices. By having the opportunity for the past six years to work with one of the area's leading periodontal specialists she broadened her knowledge and skills in the complex treatment of periodontal disease. She was able to see first hand the power of what great clinical skills and customized home care recommendations can do to treat this complex disease. Her passion in dentistry is making connections with her patients and helping them live healthy lives by providing exceptional, personalized dental care. She values continuing education as a way to grow as a hygienist and is the past Coordinator of the Milwaukee Dental Hygiene Study Club.  Cristy is licensed to administer local anesthetic and is certified to use the soft tissue diode laser as a part of periodontal therapy.

Cristy is a cancer survivor that understands the value of life and is living it to the fullest with her husband, Steve. Through her cancer journey her eyes were opened to the importance of listening to what our body is trying to tell us and how crucial early diagnosis and treatment is. She enjoys spending time with family, friends, and their two French Bulldogs, Dudley and Tyler. Cristy also loves running half marathons, reading, and gardening.

Joanie - Dental Hygienist

Joanie joined the North Shore Dental team in 2013 and has been working along side Dr. Smith since 2004.  She grew up in La Crosse, WI and met Dr. Smith while in hygiene school.  In 2004, they moved to Phoenix, AZ for 8 years where they enjoyed their time in the sunshine, but decided to start a family and moved back to WI in 2012.  They chose the Mequon community because it is a wonderful place to live and raise their three beautiful children (Amara, Lauryn and Isaiah).  They are especially grateful to be close to our families again, and to enjoy all the beauty that WI has to offer.

Joanie graduated from Western Wisconsin Technical College in 2002.  She is licensed to administer local anesthetic, nitrous oxide, and is certified to use the soft tissue diode laser for periodontal therapy.  She truly enjoys her role as a dental hygienist and takes pride in helping people achieve optimum dental health.  She is honored to follow in her mother's footsteps, who has been a dental hygienist for over 38 years.  She looks forward to forming lasting relationships, as she has, with those patients seeking a caring, gentle and compassionate dental hygienist.  She is excited to be a part of the North Shore Dental team and looks forward to being a part of your dental health for years to come!

Ashley - Dental Hygienist

I began working as a dental hygienist in 2012, after graduating from Miwaukee Area Technical College.  I joined the North Shore Dental team in July of 2014 while Joanie was on maternity leave, and have been a part of the team ever since.  As a dental hygienist, Ashley gathers information about each patient's oral health, and provides preventative and therapeutic care for our patients.  She enjoys educating patients on their individual oral hygiene needs and helping them make a difference in their overall health.  She especially loves working with children and teaching them the proper techniques to maintain healthy teeth and gums.  Ashley is licensed to adminster local anesthetic, and has recently been certified to use the soft tissue diode laser for periodontal therapy.

Ashley grew up in Fredonia and moved to Port Washington in 2013.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, friends and family.  Her favorite activities include camping, geocaching and biking.

Karen - Insurance Billing Specialist

Karen started her dental career at the very young age of 16, where she became a dental assistant in the rural Kewaskum area.  She completed a dental assistant course of study at Morraine Park Technical College in her early 20's.  After assisting in four handed dentistry for several years, she went on to work in dental claims at Blue Cross/Blue Shield as an adjucater and in customer service.  After leaving Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Karen became the manager of several oral surgery offices where she realized the importance of quality dental care.

Karen joined the North Shore Dental team in 2014 and enjoys helping patients in understanding their treatment plans, and the billing process from chairside to the final billing.  She enjoys getting to know our patients at North Shore Dental and strives to give each patient high quality personal care.

She is a recent cancer survivor, and through her journey has realized the importance of listening to what your body is trying to tell you.  She annually attends the "Get your rear in gear" run/walk with her family and friends.

In her time off, Karen enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, their significant others and her grandchildren.  Her passions are sewing, reading, baking, crocheting and mo-ped riding.  In 2012 she started a small apron making business in which the proceeds go to Children's Hospital in memory of her granddaughter Emery Jayne.

Mallory - Treatment Coordinator/Billing Specialist

Mallory joined our office in July 2017, and has worked in the dental/medical field for several years.  Mallory graduated from Milwaukee Technical College with an Associates degree in Police Science.  Mallory is very passionate about helping patients understand the importance of treatment needs, and handling incoming and outgoing financial arrangements.

During Mallory's free time, she enjoys planning her yearly trip to the most magical place on Earth, Disney World.  She also enjoys keeping with current events in the world.  When she is not buried in planning for Disney World, she enjoys spending time with her critters which include a hedgehog, a bunny, a chinchilla, a hamster, 2 parrots and 3 dogs.

Shana - Dental Assistant

I have a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from UW-Milwaukee and am one of a select group of assistants across the country that is certified in CAD/CAM digital dentistry.  I've been a dental assistant for over 8 years and have been designing and fabricating crowns and bridges for over 6 years.  I also have experience with Invisalign, orthodontic, oral surgery and all aspects of general dentistry.  I enjoy making patients feel at ease and more comfortable about being at the dentist, and I take great pride in helping patients become more confident with their smiles.

In my free time, I enjoy working out and spending time with my husband Eric and twin daughters Stella and Scarlett.  I also enjoy spending time with our two cats, Enzo and Ranger.

Donna - Dental Assistant

I have been a dental assistant for 30 plus years.  I worked with Dr. Bob for over 26 years at his practice in Saukville.  After taking a break from dentistry for a short time, I'm excited to be working with Dr. Bob again and the North Shore Dental family.  I have experience in general dentistry, oral surgery, orthodontics, TMJ, and endodontics.  I look forward to creating relationships with patients and helping them to have a positive experience during their dental appointments.

I enjoy traveling, camping during the summer and spending quality time with a wonderful circle of friends, my two daughters (Laura and Angie), my grandchildren (Ambur and Dylan) and my dog Charlie.
