CBCT

What is CBCT? CBCT stands for Cone Beam Computed Tomography, a type of 3D imaging that creates highly detailed pictures of the inside of your mouth, teeth, and jaw. It uses a special X-ray equipment to capture multiple images from different angles, which are then processed to form a 3D model of your oral structures.

Why is CBCT important for dentistry? CBCT allows your dentist to see your teeth, bones, and soft tissues in three dimensions, helping us detect issues that might not be visible with traditional X-rays. It’s especially useful for planning treatments like dental implants, root canals, or orthodontic procedures, and it helps ensure better precision, faster treatment planning, and improved outcomes.

How does CBCT benefit you as a patient?

  • Accurate Diagnosis: It gives a clearer, more detailed view of your mouth, helping your dentist detect problems like cavities, infections, or jaw issues that might not show up on standard X-rays.
  • Treatment Planning: CBCT is particularly helpful in planning complex treatments like dental implants, as it shows the bone structure and helps avoid potential complications.
  • Minimally Invasive: It provides detailed information that may reduce the need for invasive diagnostic procedures.
  • Quicker & Easier: The scan is fast—taking only a few minutes at most—and delivers instant results, meaning less waiting for answers and more time focusing on your treatment.

By using CBCT, our office can offer a higher level of care and precision in diagnosing and treating our patients. It is a tool that helps ensure more successful outcomes for you and your family.
