Joanie - Dental Hygienist
Joanie joined the North Shore Dental team in 2013 and has been working alongside Dr. Smith since 2004. She grew up in La Crosse, WI and met Dr. Smith while in hygiene school. In 2004, they moved to Phoenix, AZ for 8 years where they enjoyed their time in the sunshine but decided to start a family and moved back to WI in 2012. They chose the Mequon community because it is a wonderful place to live and raise their three beautiful children (Amara, Lauryn, and Isaiah). They are especially grateful to be close to our families again and to enjoy all the beauty that Wisconsin has to offer.
Joanie graduated from Western Wisconsin Technical College in 2002. She is licensed to administer local anesthetic, nitrous oxide, and is certified to use the soft tissue diode laser for periodontal therapy. She truly enjoys her role as a dental hygienist and takes pride in helping people achieve optimum dental health. She is honored to follow in her mother's footsteps, who has been a dental hygienist for over 40 years. She looks forward to forming lasting relationships, as she has, with those patients seeking a caring, gentle and compassionate dental hygienist. She is excited to be a part of the North Shore Dental team and looks forward to being a part of your dental health for years to come!
Jordan - Dental Assistant
Jordan joined the North Shore Dental team in November 2017. She earned her certification as a Dental Assistant shortly after joining the team. Her passion for dentistry comes from a desire to help patients feel comfortable and cared for in the dental office, while improving their confidence in their smiles. Her experience includes designing and fabricating crowns, Invisalign, ZOOM! Whitening, and all aspects of general dentistry.
In her free time, Jordan enjoys playing golf, fishing, traveling, and being in the great outdoors! She loves spending time with her husband, family, friends and her two labs chocolate labs, Nessie and Murphy, along with her two cats, Meow Meow and Marley.
Shana - Dental Assistant
Shana has a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from UW-Milwaukee and is one of a select group of assistants across the country that is certified in CAD/CAM digital dentistry. She has been a dental assistant for over 18 years. She has been designing and fabricating crowns and bridges for over 12 years. Her experience includes working with Invisalign, orthodontics, Zoom! Whitening and all aspects of general dentistry. Shana enjoys making patients feel at ease and more comfortable about being at the dentist. She takes great pride in helping patients become more confident with their smiles.
In her free time, she enjoys working out, being outside, traveling, and spending time with her husband Eric, and twin daughters Stella and Scarlett. She also enjoys spending time with her two cats, Luna and Ranger.
Lala - Dental Assistant
Lala is a dedicated dental assistant with 5 years of experience. She is passionate about creating a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. Lala finds her work to be deeply rewarding because she loves helping people and making a difference in their smiles.
Outside of work Lala enjoys spending time with her kids, Aliyla and baby Xavier. They enjoy creating arts and crafts, snuggling, reading, journaling and traveling to Puerto Rico to visit loved ones. If there is one thing to know about her, it's that she runs on coffee!
Angie - Financial Coordinator
I joined North Shore Dental in the fall of 2019. My initial entry into dentistry was through MATC, where I was trained to be a dental assistant. I worked as a dental assistant for a few months before transitioning into a front office role as a financial coordinator. I enjoy being involved in dentistry and helping people achieve their perfect smile.
I grew up in Green Bay, WI and have been in the downtown Milwaukee area for the last 10 years. In my spare time I enjoy watching crime and nature documentaries and hanging with my two cats, Toro and Zedd. I also enjoy traveling with my friends, learning new recipes to try out, and enjoying the great outdoors.
Emily - Insurance and Patient Coordinator
Emily joined the North Shore Dental team in 2021 . With no previous background in dentistry, she quickly discovered her passion for helping patients and has since gained extensive experience navigating dental insurances. Emily enjoys connecting with patients, and making sure everything runs smoothly day to day in the office.
Outside of the office, she loves spending time with her husband Max, and their little boy Maverick. Emily enjoys her summers on the boat, spending time with friends and family, fishing and visiting Colorado every year!
