Craig L.

Smith, DDS

A Marquette-trained dentist, community neighbor, and lifelong learner — Dr. Smith follows one simple principle in the office: treat everyone as if they are family.

From Milwaukee, to Marquette, and back home again.

Dr. Smith was born and raised in Milwaukee. He is a 1992 graduate of University School of Milwaukee. Following high school, Dr. Smith was awarded an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy. After determining that the military life was not his true calling, he attended Ripon College where he majored in biology and enjoyed a Hall of Fame career on the basketball court.

Following his time at Ripon College, Dr. Smith attended the prestigious Marquette University School of Dentistry, where he graduated in 2001 and was selected as a National Health Corps Scholar. As a Scholar, he provided much-needed dental care to underserved populations of Monroe County and LaCrosse, WI. This is where he met his better half, Joanie.

He thrives on continuing education and has completed over 600 hours of supplementary training and courses, including over 190 hours of advanced training in dental implants and over 180 hours in orthodontics. Dr. Smith follows a very simple principle in the office — treat everyone as if they are family.

Dr. Smith and his family moved back to the Mequon area in 2012 after eight years of private practice in Phoenix, AZ. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys spending as much time as possible with Joanie and their three children, Amara, Lauryn, and Isaiah. While the old knees don't allow for basketball anymore, Dr. Smith enjoys audio books, hiking, cycling, and spending as much time as possible outside with their dog Kimber (Cane Corso).
